This assesses whether your child is developmentally ready for school. Within the mainstream education system, readiness for school is based on chronological age. However, children develop deferentially and many have not reached neurological maturity by "school-going age". Sometimes one more year in Kindergarten is all they need to achieve their developmental milestones. If they must go on to Grade One, it is important at least to identify any delay in order to support and guide the child, rather than label and place inappropriate demands.
The assessment is not meant to replace standard neurological, educational or psychological examinations by other trained professionals. It is a tool which includes a sequence of games, movement activities, and drawings which gives a picture from the outside of how your child’s body's neural circuitry works from the inside.
