Despite passing through potty training for the most part around age 3.5 years, he just kept soiling his pants at school on an occasional basis. We tried treating constipation, scheduled potty time, probiotics - not much helped. He insisted that it just came out and he couldn't feel it happening, but would notice the odor and then get very embarrassed. When his schoolteacher also noticed he was really awkward and couldn't move well in dance class, she suggested an evaluation for primitive reflexes with Yvette. The evaluation was extremely thorough and indicated he had some very strongly retained reflexes in his lower back - not only did this potentially explain his voiding difficulties but was also associated with him being quiet and unexpressive - which was also a classic description of our son. We worked with Yvette over about 6-9 months in total with 1 in-person session every 4-6 weeks and ~daily homework exercises for about 10-15min. We also did a few treatments with a specialized chiropractor who also worked with reflexes but in a different way. The reflex homework routines fit in relatively easily with our bedtime routine and over time, our son not only got used to and started liking the exercises, but he also eventually stopped having accidents. During this time he also became a lot more expressive and all his grandparents even noticed how much more talkative he was - he would finally tell us all about his day when we picked him up at school. He was truly a new person and has had 0 accidents since part-way through the program. As a healthcare provider, I knew there was not much to offer my son at the doctor's office - I am so thankful to have found the primitive reflexes and help my son thrive.
