Despite passing through potty training for the most part around age 3.5 years, he just kept soiling his pants at school on an occasional basis. We tried treating constipation, scheduled potty time, probiotics - not much helped. He insisted that it just came out and he couldn't feel it happening, but would notice the odor and then get very embarrassed. When his schoolteacher also noticed he was really awkward and couldn't move well in dance class, she suggested an evaluation for primitive reflexes with Yvette. The evaluation was extremely thorough and indicated he had some very strongly retained reflexes in his lower back - not only did this potentially explain his voiding difficulties but was also associated with him being quiet and unexpressive - which was also a classic description of our son. We worked with Yvette over about 6-9 months in total with 1 in-person session every 4-6 weeks and ~daily homework exercises for about 10-15min. We also did a few treatments with a specialized chiropractor who also worked with reflexes but in a different way. The reflex homework routines fit in relatively easily with our bedtime routine and over time, our son not only got used to and started liking the exercises, but he also eventually stopped having accidents. During this time he also became a lot more expressive and all his grandparents even noticed how much more talkative he was - he would finally tell us all about his day when we picked him up at school. He was truly a new person and has had 0 accidents since part-way through the program. As a healthcare provider, I knew there was not much to offer my son at the doctor's office - I am so thankful to have found the primitive reflexes and help my son thrive.

They also had not crawled so had a weak core. We had an assessment by Yvette at Nibble Kids and she provided a comprehensive report to educate us on how the primitive reflexes were impacting our child’s development. She provided a home movement program focused on eliminating the reflexes and strengthening the core, and trained us to support our child to do it. We worked on the home movement program 15 minutes a day as frequently as we could, each week for about 6 months. During this time Yvette came and assessed the progress and provided adaptations to the home movement program to influence our child's progress. After working with Nimble Kids we are pleased to see our child’s development has advanced. Our child is stronger and more confident in their gross motor development, and the primitive reflexes are no longer present.
Thanks, Yvette’s we’ve really enjoyed working with you. We followed Yvette’s Home Movement Program and spent about 15 minutes per day on exercises for each child. After a few months of consistent practice, we noticed clear progress in both children, including improved eye focus and coordination, as well as better walking posture and reduced toe walking. We appreciated Yvette’s guidance and support throughout the program.
- From the Robin family She was consistently caring, attentive, and deeply in tune with our son’s individual needs. Her knowledge of retained primitive reflexes and how to support their integration was especially impressive and clearly guided her approach. Through her support and the Home Movement Program, we saw meaningful progress in Luka, particularly in his reading and writing skills as well as his emotional regulation. He became more confident, more engaged in learning, and better able to manage frustration. We are very grateful for Yvette’s expertise and dedication, and the impact she has had on our son’s development.
